The Tour de Slate is a bicycle ride that raises funds for Teen Challenge Vt.
The rides are centered around Middletown Springs Vt and the neighboring towns and tour the Slate Valley of western Vt and bordering NY state.
The Tour de Slate is made up of five different routes designed to provide an enjoyable ride no matter what your level of experience. The most challenging rides, for avid road cyclists, are a 100 mile (century) and a metric century (100km, 63.4 mi) ride. The additional choices of a 36 mile route, a 24.7 mile route or a family ride (off road on a trail) will ensure that there is a ride suitable for everyone. The 'Tour de Slate' is aptly named as it tours the world renowned slate valley of western Vermont and bordering NY state. The beneficiary of the ride is Teen Challenge, VT. (All net proceeds will be donated to that organization.)
According to some surveys,Teen Challenge is the most successful drug and alcohol abuse recovery program in the nation. It is totally funded by private donations and other fund raising events. Teen Challenge, VT receives no government tax funding!

?Teen Challenge has a three pronged approach to ending addiction:

1.Their End Addiction campaign brings a substance abuse prevention presentation to schools, youth groups or community events. It is interactive, multi-media and includes real stories of people who have overcome addiction.
2.The traditional Teen Challenge residential program for men is the most successful (for those who complete the program) drug and alcohol addiction recovery program in the country.
3. Teen Challenge, VT has recently opened a women's facility where abused and addicted women can find refuge. It is awesome and totally remodeled and functional. It is safe, warm and provides a loving home where the guest residents can embark on a new life!

Ride to Cure Diabetesup to 100 miles7:00 AMSaratoga Springs,Jill Waller
JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a charitable bike ride that to-date has raised over $50 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The Ride gives cyclists of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to support breakthroughs that transform the lives of people with T1D, until there is a cure.

JDRF Ride isn't just a bike ride: it's an experience where hundreds of riders come together from all over the world to make new friendships, enjoy the unparalleled camaraderie of the Ride community and raise money to help end T1D
Riders choose one of our fundraising packages and set their own mileage goal. Along the way, you'll receive the full support of the JDRF Ride community—including everyone from Ride coaches to the fundraising experts—who will help you reach and exceed your fundraising and training goals.

Join the JDRF Ride Community

When you register, you'll become a part of the JDRF Ride family, a community of all ages, who return year after year to inspire each other and raise money for life-changing T1D research.

In addition to enjoying the comradery, registered riders who complete their fundraising will receive a commemorative JDRF Ride jersey made by Hincapie Sportswear. Any T1D Rider can choose to receive a special T1D version of this jersey instead—and inspire us all as you cross the finish line!

Pick a premier Ride event

There are six 2020 JDRF Rides across the country. Each of the Rides, which occur July through November, offer a unique and unforgettable experience. From riding the rolling hills of upstate New York to the beautiful maritime forests of Amelia Island, JDRF has a Ride for you.

Help create a world without T1D

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a serious and stressful disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin, a hormone the body needs to get energy from food. T1D strikes children and adults suddenly—and managing it is a constant balancing act. There is currently nothing you can do to prevent it, and there is no cure.

JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. We want a cure and we won't stop until we make one a reality. Along the way, we will continue to support advances that make it safer and easier to live with this disease. By taking part in JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes, you'll help us get there faster.
